Excuses

Today I have been wearing cat ears around. I find this kinda fun, because I think I have always liked to dress up on occasion. It isn't like I am really going anywhere or doing anything special, but the idea of wearing somethign a little differant for a change is exciting. If I need a holiday as an excuse to wear something more creative for a change, than I can take that excuse and use it to the fullest.

There is no excuse not to study for the test I have tomorrow morning. I am studying intermittantly between typing on my puter and other such exploits. My attention span seems to be quite limited. Sigh, I am not looking forward to my lab exam on the morrow.

I was quite dismayed to realize I left the book I was reading at home. I wish I had it with me... but then I would have less incentive to study tonight.

Happy, movie, pumpkin...

Last night I went to go see Elizabethtown with a friend. She really really likes to see movies, and I go along because I enjoy movies as well. As is traditional we sat in almost the center of the theatre closest to the middle of the center row as possible. When you get there about 15 min before the movie starts and you pick a late evening showing, this isn't hard to do. I did rather like Elizabethtown. It might have been a slower paced movie than many I have seen recently, but that was okay. It was kinda cute. I suppose I am not one for many worded descriptions at times. Suffice to say, it was a good film.

I am decorating a pumpkin for work and I already have planned out what I am going to do, but I have yet to paint the silly pumpkin. Time seems to be lacking, or maybe it is that I don't yet have paint to decorate with... but I will get this thing finished somehow.

Happy birthday to all those people who have birthdays right about now. I know two people pesonally who have aged this week.

Cool weather

There are some definte advantages to cooler weather, I mean when else do you get to see the leaves on trees begin to change color? How often does one use a woodstove in the summer monthes? One's cats seem more apt to sleep inside on the end of the bed when it's cool outside. The list goes on.

Last night I preforemed an experiment, something I in all my years have never done before. The change is subtle, almost unrecogizable, but that was kinda the point, to create a small change.

I had a lab practical for med micro this morning, and I don't think I did so hot. For part of the test we had to do a gram stain, then look at it in the microscope. I couldn't see anything in the microscope. My slide looked like it had a fingerprint on it in stead of cells, even after I stained it. I prolly did something wrong, in fact it was a bit of a rushed thing cause we only had 2 min per station and for most stations that was quite adaquit, but for the gram stain ones, nope. I had a 50/50 chance of guessing Gram+ or Gram- correctly, so hopefully that worked for me.

This weekend was a bit differant than most, but I enjoyed it quite well. :D

Long time, no see

It has been over a week since my last post; a rare occurance for me. I have much and little to say all at once. I had a good weekend because it was actually sunny for once after the week of rain we had last week. Saturday was beautiful for sailing the boats, unfortuantly some of our boats encountered technical difficulties and were unable to sail the first few races. The new boat sailed like a charm until the batteries got wet and started to make the rudder twitch. I had fun during the time I spent with each of my familes.

Last night I went to an open mic night for part fo the evening after I got back from work. There were some really nice acts. Mostly it was people playing gitar and singing, but there was also a dramatic reading, a poem, and some break dancing. One of my friends played gitar too.

Classes call.

mmmm... Monday

Though it was an overcast day, I have enjoyed it, especially some of the time I spent outside. :D

I got out of my last class a little bit early tonight, which was nice, but at the same time I am a little loss at what I should do now. My usual time diversions... (this is the point where I get interupted while writing by my mother calling me then never finish my thought, thus I was doing something)

Interesting, very much so

As I was walking to work yesterday, who hails me from a car by Misha, yes that is right! I am pretty much a little amazed and it is a happy meeting, being that my memories of CT are far enough removed from present to be mostly pleasent in nature. (I know there are some who might, okay, will and do disagree with me but...) So anyways we chat for a little bit then go our seprate ways.

After work last night, I went to see Serenity with a friend. It was her first time seeing it, my second. I think I enjoyed watching it a little more the first time around, although I comprehended more of the details in the second watching.

I feel kinda silly, I knew I didn't have lab today, but I somehow missed the fact that lecture was also cancelled this morning. Consequesntly, I got up early for no reason when I could have been sleeping in.

Wasn't a dream

I felt like I had a long weekend, being as Friday was pretty much apart of the weekend. One of my friends purchased the Firefly dvd's, so we watched some of the remaining episodes we hadn't yet seen before going to see Serenity in theatres later that day. I ended up really liking Serenity, especialy since I got to see it with friends. I was also enthused I got to watch it before my younger brother. One point for me.

Saturday was a good day too. I spent some of the day at my second home. It got cold out that night, and it takes more than a flashlight to keep a person warm (smile). I got a couple books from the library, but a couple was pretty much all I needed because I have my second 'library' suppling me with a few additional reading materials.

In one of my classes we had two guest lecture speakers, which was somewhat of a nice change until the one started to go on and on. I thought we would never get out of class.

It seems I have no real rant, but only a bland summary of some things in my semi-boring life.
