It burns, it bites, it's work

So I was supposed to work 5-9 tonight. Yeah, I punched out at 10. A whole 'nother hour of work and pay, yes, but yet, I don't get paid that much. By the time I could dig my cell out from my locker to call my roomie, she was starting to freak out that I wasn't back yet. If I am a whole hour late in getting home, then "something must have gone wrong" is the assumption. Similarly I would be woried about her if she wasn't home by a cetain time at night. Overall it wasn't a bad night, but still somewhat stressfull at points.

Oh, and the best part... I burned my finger and it is a second degree burn to boot. It is my fault it is burned though. I was making bread (which is really sticking already precooked rolls into the oven for 3 min to basically toast them in my opinion) so when I pulled the bread out of the oven, I held the pan with my right hand which had an oven mitt on it. I could still feel the heat through the oven mitt, and it was just hot enough for me to want to grab the pan with my other hand... yeah... I actually touched the hot pan with my unmitted left hand, and ouch; that was really hot. I have a visible burn to show for it. Sigh, it has been a long day.

I had one test this morning and I think I did decently well on it, though time will tell. I got back a test I took last week, and found out I did about as well as I had thought, which was not as well as I had hoped. I have a test tomorrow as well. I am just thankful my tests are spread out at least a day aprt, otherwise it would be really bad.

Shower

I have hit another moment in my life that I feel I shall remember for years to come. Two years ago I finally learned the art of sleeping in class (philosophy class, it puts me right out) . I can remember a couple years ago, the first and only time I have cried while reading a book and it is clear in my memory, though other times I have come close. Tonight I have finally cried in the shower as warm water washed over me, something I can't remember having done before. It is not that I have had a bad day, and I can't really explain so easilly why I was crying, except to say that I was sad. Now I can go to sleep in realitive peace, with less on my mind. Life is so strange. I am tired and the day was long. Sweet dreams.

The washing of the hands

Okay, so a slight pet peeve of mine is when I am in the bathroom and I see someone else use the toilet and leave the bathroom without washing their hands. That is just gross. Didn't their mother's raise them right? Doesn't everyone know that you are supposed to wash your hands after using the restroom? For anyone who may be ignorant NEW FLASH! Please wash your hands. There is a reason there are sinks and soap in the bathroom, and no it is not to style your hair. The other I was in the bathroom cause I had to blow my nose, after which I subsequnetly washed my hands so as not to spead germs. I see through the mirror a girl emerge from one of the stalls behind me and exit the restroom without so much as a glance at the sinks placed so prominently in the bathroom. I realize as I exit the water closet a few moments later that the girl I saw leave is in my health calss, yes my HEALTH class, abeit one on nutrition, but still... I have a pretty good idea that this girl was a nursing major (I certainly wouldn't want someone with those habits to touch me). How germy, unsafe and nasty that is... I could understand if someone was allergic to a particular kind of soap, but in that case, they should still wash their hands by either carrying on thier person a bar of soap they can use, or perhaps some antibacterial hand gel. There really are no excuses.

Colds and cold

I hate being sick, even if it is with something as simple as a cold. It is just annoying being forced to perform regular duties such as going to class and work while feeling subpar. This has in fact effected me so as to make me a bit more whinny and irritable than normal. Luckilly work and school haven't been overly stressful despite me having two tests this week. I am thining on the bright side... I didn't get a cold either the week before or the week after Chriatmas like I normally do.

This morning it was snowing for a little while, but it didn't stick, it only made the ground wet, and the temperature was cold. Walking in the cold is no fun, but around here, I do alot of that. About the only reason I haven't gained many pounds from my eating habits is probably due to all that tiresome wallking I am presently compalining about. I can't say I like it, but I have learned to tolerate it. The best way to survive the cold, is to dress for it. Like duh... but anyways being at least semi warm makes the wholewalking experience a bit more palateable.

I feel quite boreing, but alas, no one said I had to be some creative genious.

Frustration and it's all my fault

I think I have changed my mind 20 times in the past hour. Tomorrow (or rather today as it is past midnight) is preseidents day. Most everyone around me has off school or work for the holiday, but I have both school and work. As to why I am stressing needlessly about minor trivial details instead of the major things like what the heck am I doing for school next semester (which has also been on my mind of late), I think I find fault at my lack of clearly definded comunicational skills except at intersections where I plan to the second my evadable state. To clearify, I always know when I am leaving for work and make sure everyone around me knows as well so I will hope against hope, be there in plenty of time. In contrast, details deemed less than imperitive never seems to turn out quite right because there was some sort of idea in my head I failed to articulate. Yet... my frustration this time stems not from what has happened, but rather from what has yet to pass. I must seem a complicated person even to myself at times. Forgive me my ramlings about non-specifics, but I have somewhat of a cold and I will blame it on that. Needless to say, I think I am venting without a true rant. Another day in my life, this one perhaps less glorious than most. I should sleep and let the day worry for itself.

What's in a month?

So here it is the middle of February, most notable to some for its minor recent holiday. I shall terry there for a few moments; Valentine's Day, a day where people are in one of a few encampements. The category where one does something with a significant other, the one where one does something with friends, the one wherein there is a determination to fling insults at those acting all lovy dovy, or the one where the individual curls up in a ball and cries for the day. The last two are similar. It seems sometimes too much is made of a day where no one even gets off school or work so the so called holiday. Whatever you did, I hope you had fun.

School is passing and slowly though it may be, we all draw closer to summer with each passing day; hordes of hopefuls in for the long haul. I count the weeks by my once a week class. Another week has gone by the time I am finished it on Fridays. What happened to the blissfull first week of school where I had spare time galore? Now I don't even get to watch as much Olympics as I want because I have papers to write and of course I have to go to work.

I had a sore throat yesterday, though after sleeping soundly last night it seems as though I may have forgone getting sick, but I shall not know for sure until today's end. I wish I could laze around today in my coke-a-cola socks, but that is never to be. Hopefully I will get some more down time this weekend, without getting bored.
