Names... named for?

What gets me is when people automatically assume I was named after my father. Okay, so perhaps our names start with the same letter, and even have very close meanings that are basically sinonomus, but that is not indicitive of being named for someone. If you think I was named after my father, then you obviously don't know my family very well. If my parent's had wanted to name someone after themselves, then perhaps they could have chosen one of my three older siblings, one of who has another name starting with the same letter and perhaps also has a similar but slightly differant meaning to their name? In truth, no one in my immidiate family has a first name that came from another family member. Some of the middle names in my family are, however, names of other family members on purpose. My name is 'individual' and my family was not running out of names. Just needed to make that point... oh and as a P.S. not everything in life has a bloody pattern to it! ;)
